Recently promoted to of counsel, Mariela Huerta Avila's core practice is in the area of global disputes.
Mariela's practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on corporate and shareholder litigation. She has represented local and international clients in disputes related to the enforcement of contracts subject to Mexican law, including noncompliance and interpretation of clauses and injunctive relief, either before courts or in negotiations. She has experience in commercial arbitration, representing clients in international arbitration proceedings in joint efforts of Firm offices, as well as in local arbitration proceedings before Mexican dispute resolution centers.
Mariela is part of an integrated team of more than 200 Jones Day Global Disputes Practice lawyers, located in 27 business centers around the world, who help clients successfully resolve high-value disputes wherever they arise, whether through litigation, arbitration, or some combination of the two.
