Lukas Kratochvil has 20 years of experience in cross-border M&A, international joint ventures, and project development in the energy and natural resources sector. He has advised extensively on the entire oil & gas value chain, renewable and clean energy, and mining. His recent Japan-outbound experience includes matters involving steel, hydroelectric power, offshore wind, technology, automotive, downstream oil & gas (including refineries), and mining.

Based in Tokyo since 2006, Lukas has represented a wide range of Japanese and international clients on landmark transactions and projects in Japan and in more than 40 jurisdictions across the globe, particularly in Southeast Asia, Europe, and Africa.

In addition, Lukas has frequently advised on corporate mandates in the steel, agribusiness, and technology sectors, particularly with respect to complex international joint venture arrangements and cross-border M&A.
