Carolin Mieczkowski advises clients on EU and German law matters arising in the environmental context (ESG, waste, and recycling) and throughout the life cycle of a variety of products (including biocides, food, and cosmetics) with a focus on chemicals and REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Registration of Chemicals). With her background in life sciences, Carolin is well versed to advise on borderline products (food supplements, medicinal products, biocides, and medical devices).
Carolin regularly advises clients on issues regarding product development, authorization, and ongoing compliance, safety, and liability (recalls and claims). Prior to joining Jones Day in 2023, she worked in the global regulatory practice of an international law firm in Brussels where she focused on medical devices (software as medical device and artificial intelligence), medicinal products, and other health-related products. Carolin also worked in the life sciences, health care, and chemicals practice of an international law firm in Germany and interned at the Medical Devices Unit of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety.
