Maximilian Schott advises industrial corporate clients and financial sponsors on complex domestic and cross-border M&A projects. In this context, Maximilian focuses on cross-border carve-out and outsourcing as well as joint venture projects. He regularly advises clients across the renewable energy and circular economy, chemical, automotive, industrial, and pharma industries.
Recently, Maximilian represented TotalEnergies on its €1.57 billion acquisition of VSB Group, a leading pan-European renewable energies developer; JENSEN-GROUP on the acquisition of MAXI-PRESS Group; Parmaco (a portfolio company of Partners Group) on its acquisition of a majority stake in mobispace; GfK on the sale of its consumer panel business to YouGov (€315 million); Plastic Omnium on its acquisition of OSRAM's automotive lighting business; Sanofi on the carve-out and listing of its API business; SAP on the formation of its financial and insurance services joint venture with DEDIQ (co-investment DEDIQ €500 million); and Suez on the sale of its recycling operations to Schwarz Group (€1.1 billion).
Maximilian frequently represents corporate clients such as TotalEnergies and LyondellBasell on projects focusing on energy transition and circular economy.
Maximilian is the founder of the Hans-Jürgen Papier Inn of the International Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi in Munich, a nonprofit organization with more than 200,000 members promoting legal ethics in society around the world. Since 2019, he has served as province president of Phi Delta Phi in Europe.
