Amy Maslar's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. She has significant experience in fact development, e-discovery and document management, briefing and motions practice, depositions, and preparation of fact and expert witnesses for trial and arbitration.
Amy has tried matters before arbitral tribunals and in courts across the United States. Amy recently represented a pharmaceutical company in a cross-border arbitration tried under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) that resulted in the unanimous denial of a $315 million claim and an award of millions of dollars in fees and costs to the client. She also represented a biopharmaceutical company in an American Arbitration Association (AAA) arbitration in which the tribunal unanimously denied the other side's claim and granted the client's counterclaim in full.
Amy's recent experience also includes defending class actions against a private company hired to manage the Illinois Lottery and litigating complex products liability claims.
Amy is committed to providing pro bono legal representation to those with limited means of access to legal services. Amy recently led a team of Jones Day lawyers in obtaining asylum for a family of Honduran refugees who fled their home country to escape gang-based violence and persecution. Additionally, she is actively involved in the community, including the Junior League of Chicago and Horizons for Youth, a mentoring and tutoring organization that supports children from low-resource areas of Chicago.
