Adam Rompotis' practice focuses on all aspects of complex commercial and public law litigation and dispute resolution, with particular emphasis on energy and resources, corporations, mergers and acquisitions, and finance disputes.
Adam acts in proceedings in superior courts at first instance and on appeal, in specialist tribunals such as the Australian Takeovers Panel and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and in international and domestic arbitrations, both ad hoc and under various rules, including the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). Adam has appeared as counsel in matters in the Federal Court, the Full Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
Adam has advised and acted on disputes involving gas pricing, joint ventures, asset and share sales, schemes of arrangement and other Corporations Act applications, as well as matters involving market disclosure, directors duties and shareholder rights, partnerships, defamation, trade practices and competition law, force majeure, state and federal constitutional law (with commercial applications), regulatory investigations, and various kinds of contractual disputes.
Adam previously served as an Associate to the Hon. Justice Edelman at the High Court of Australia. He also has tutored courses in public law, corporations law, and business law at the University of Western Australia.
