José Estandía tiene más de 25 años de experiencia encabezando proyectos de fusiones y adquisiciones y, transacciones de financiamiento de proyectos en el sector energético de México, enfocándose en electricidad, energías renovables, gas natural y terminales de gas. Él tiene una extensa experiencia con proyectos renovables, representando a los participantes en la negociación e implementación de contratos de compraventa de energía (PPAs), contratos de cobertura eléctrica (ECA), contratos de ingeniería, construcción, y procura (EPC), así como contratos de operación y mantenimiento (OM). La práctica de José incluye la asesoría a empresas de hidrocarburos en relación con la comercialización de gasolina y diésel en México. Él es el Socio Administrativo de la Oficina en la Ciudad de México.

José asiste a clientes en relación con el espectro completo de los instrumentos regulatorios, políticas, cargos de transmisión y criterios impuestos al sector eléctrico por la Secretaría de Energía (SENER), la Comisión Reguladora de Energía (CRE), el Centro Nacional de Control de Energía (CENACE), y la Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE). En adición, José asesora a clientes del sector eléctrico sobre los medios locales e internacionales para la protección y defensa de sus derechos en relación con la implementación de regulaciones gubernamentales.

Dentro de las transacciones recientes en las que José ha participado se encuentra la adquisición de ciertas plantas solares con una capacidad instalada de hasta 700 MW localizadas en los estados de Durango y Zacatecas, México. Asimismo, él asesoró a una subsidiaria de Grupo Iberdrola en el financiamiento de una planta eólica con capacidad de 220.5 MW. José asistió recientemente a Hoteles Presente y Grupo Gigante y sus subsidiarias como consumidores en la celebración de varios contratos de suministro eléctrico (PPAs).

José es miembro de la Barra Mexicana de Abogados y la Academia Mexicana de Derecho Energético. Él es coautor de varios artículos de temas energéticos en México.
