With more than 30 years of experience, Tony Dias creates and implements strategic legal responses to high-profile and novel legal matters involving financial institutions, manufacturing, energy, health care and life sciences, telecommunications, consumer products and services, corporate conduct, and educational institutions. He defends companies facing federal government and state attorney general investigations, complex litigation, federal and state legislative investigations and hearings, and regulatory challenges. He also counsels those companies on disciplined legal communication strategies in responding to intense media scrutiny.
Tony leads the Firm's State Attorney General Enforcement, Investigations & Litigation Practice and previously was co-leader of the financial institutions litigation & regulation practice. He has substantial experience in leading the defense of companies and industries facing government scrutiny and related private litigation. In addition to the numerous federal and state attorney general multistate investigations and litigation Tony has handled, he has led the defense of concurrent investigations by the Department of Justice (DOJ), Congress, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and other federal agencies. Tony's experience also includes significant matters at the individual state and local levels where businesses are targeted with municipal litigation, regulatory enforcement, and legislative efforts.
Tony holds leadership positions in national and local organizations promoting better public policy and improving children's health and education. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Allegheny College and a member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Business Council.
