Vishal Khatri is a globally recognized patent lawyer focused on leveraging intellectual property rights to help technology companies achieve their business objectives. Vishal has nearly 25 years of in-depth experience handling patent litigation disputes at the International Trade Commission (ITC) and in federal court. He has litigated patents in diverse fields, such as 4G and 5G cellular communications, Wi-Fi, GPS (Global Positioning System), semiconductors, memory devices, TV transmission, LEDs (light-emitting diodes), optics, medical devices, automotive technologies, consumer electronics, graphics processing units (GPUs), and emerging technologies like fintech, blockchain, and artificial intelligence (AI). Vishal also advises clients on how to navigate issues concerning standard-setting organizations, standard essential patents (SEPs), and RAND/FRAND (fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory) licensing.

Before becoming a lawyer, Vishal designed power plants, developed software, and optimized cellular networks for wireless carriers. Vishal leads the IP group in Jones Day's Washington Office.
