Sarah Welch's practice focuses on appellate advocacy and dispositive motions. She has drafted briefs in matters before every level of the federal and state courts.

Sarah also maintains an active pro bono practice. She argued and won an appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and she has filed pro bono briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court and the Second, Fourth, Sixth, and Seventh Circuits. Sarah also serves on the case-writing committees for Ohio's high school mock trial and moot court competitions.

Before joining Jones Day, Sarah served as a law clerk to the Honorable Brett M. Kavanaugh of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Honorable William H. Pryor Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
