Holly Sara is an experienced litigator and advisor with a strong track record in handling high-value, high-profile, and complex matters.
A Chambers and The Legal 500 recognized litigator, Holly's practice encompasses commercial disputes, class actions, investigations, and contentious regulatory and government matters. Holly also has a particular focus on ESG (environmental, social, and governance) and leads the Firm's ESG efforts in Australia.
Holly advises corporations (listed and unlisted), financial institutions, and individual directors and officers. She has broad experience across industry sectors, including health care and life sciences, energy and resources, financial markets, technology, funds, property and development, consumer goods, and manufacturing.
Holly has defended clients against numerous high-profile class actions and related regulatory actions regarding financial products, securities, pharmaceuticals, franchisees, product liability, and ESG issues, among others. She has acted in several of the most high-profile regulatory investigations and enforcement actions in the country. Her regulatory experience spans all of the major Australian regulators, including ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission) and the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission), as well as Royal Commissions, Commissions of Inquiry, and Parliamentary inquiries and foreign regulators.
Holly also regularly advises clients on regulatory issues and disclosures, including greenwashing, modern slavery, climate-related disclosures, and other ESG issues.
Holly's commercial litigation experience includes several multibillion dollar, bet-the-company disputes, numerous post-transaction disputes, and insurance coverage disputes, including a successful High Court appeal regarding class action insurance coverage.
Holly is the regional hiring partner for Jones Day in Australia.
