Adam Hollingsworth, a former federal prosecutor, represents companies and individuals in government investigations, criminal prosecutions, and cybersecurity matters. He has broad experience defending clients in significant matters and has guided clients through every stage of government investigations.
As an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA), he prosecuted investment and securities fraud, health care fraud, money laundering, bribery, public corruption, embezzlement, identity theft, criminal tax violations, immigration fraud, firearms, and narcotics cases.
Among his trial victories as an AUSA, Adam successfully convicted a politician who accepted bribes for attempting to influence criminal investigations; convicted four defendants who defrauded 500 investors in a medical device fraud scheme; and convicted the owner of a construction company who paid kickbacks in exchange for millions in false invoices. He also prosecuted a former Cleveland Browns football player who stole charitable donations from a nonprofit organization, and he prosecuted the largest indictment in the history of the Northern District of Ohio, securing a guilty plea from all 72 defendants.
Adam has also served in the Civil Rights Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, where he enforced fair housing, anti-hate crime, and disability rights laws, negotiating a landmark settlement agreement that made iTunes accessible to blind customers.
Adam maintains an active pro bono practice, including assisting detained women seeking political asylum as part of Jones Day's Border Project; leading an Ohio team as part of Jones Day's Hate Crimes Task Force; co-leading a project investigating allegations of police misconduct in Minneapolis; and teaching 3Rs in Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) high schools.
