Scott Scheinberg represents high-profile clients in multimillion dollar disputes and class action litigation and defends clients who are the subject of government investigations. He has taken and defended depositions, drafted motions and briefs, conducted witness interviews, and managed discovery.
Scott has helped companies navigate a wide variety of investigations on topics ranging from environmental compliance to financial and accounting fraud. He is a member of Jones Day teams that have defended companies against civil and criminal investigations brought by the Department of Justice (DOJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and state attorneys general. Most recently, Scott helped a Fortune 500 company resolve a dispute with FERC related to its inaccurate reporting of lobbying expenses.
Scott's commitment to service extends to pro bono matters and the Pittsburgh community. He serves as a coordinator for the Western District of Pennsylvania's Pro Se Pro Bono Mediation Program, which pairs pro se litigants with volunteer counsel. He also serves on the board of directors of the Thelma Lovette YMCA and the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, is the president of Pittsburgh's University of Delaware Alumni Club, and is the commissioner of the Allegheny County Bar Association basketball league.
