Yvonne Chan represents a wide variety of clients, including financial institutions, technology and life sciences companies, and colleges and universities, in complex commercial litigation matters and in internal and government investigations.
Yvonne has reached successful outcomes for clients in jury and bench trials and in arbitrations. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, Yvonne handled a month-long jury trial that resulted in an acquittal for the former president of a pharmaceutical company in a federal criminal anti-kickback case involving allegations that the defendant had directed kickbacks to prescribers in the form of free meals and fees for speaking engagements.
In addition, she has obtained a favorable verdict in a bench trial in bankruptcy court for a national bank; an arbitration award in favor of independent trustees in a contract dispute; and an arbitration award in favor of an educational institution in a dispute over licensing agreements.
Yvonne serves on the Boston Bar Association (BBA) Council and Executive Committee. She also co-chairs the BBA's Women of Color Attorneys Leadership Forum.
Yvonne has been active in pro bono matters, including a recent asylum victory for an individual facing persecution for her political beliefs.
Yvonne is co-chair of Jones Day's Asian Lawyers Affinity Group.
