Tess has defended clients in high-profile civil disputes in federal and state courts across all stages of litigation and varied subject areas including product liability, class actions, federal securities law, antitrust, fraud, and trade secret misappropriation. She also has significant experience with investigations, both internal and regulatory, and white collar criminal defense including recent work representing a client indicted as part of a high-profile federal prosecution involving allegations of stolen federal child nutrition funds.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Tess was an associate at large international law firms headquartered in Chicago and Minneapolis. Before her legal career, she taught high school special education in the New York City public schools as a Teach For America corps member. Tess also worked as an application developer for a Twin Cities-based Fortune 500 financial services company. She draws on this varied experience to provide clear, creative solutions for clients.
