Mark Scalzo joined our New Lawyers Group (NLG) in 2024. The NLG provides our newest lawyers with the opportunity to gain exposure to different practice areas and lawyering styles before making a commitment to a specific practice. Individuals in the NLG may focus on a particular area of practice, or compare practices, during their first year with Jones Day.
Before joining Jones Day, Mark served as a judicial law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and a judicial intern on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. During law school, he researched options and issues for potential federal data privacy legislation proposals and spent one summer contributing to constitutional litigation protecting equality, property rights, and the separation of powers. Prior to attending law school, Mark worked at a large health care software company on electronic health record (EHR) interoperability, regulatory compliance, and provider well-being.
